Aww, I'm sorry, Swifty. Even though I think Rose is very good value for money, I really can't afford to buy you one. :( Maybe, if we come up during the cooler months and there's room in the car, we might bring the suit up with us so you can see it in person? If you're ever visiting Brisbane, you're always welcome to drop in on us or even sleep over (we have a couch that folds out into a double bed).
Awww... that's so sweet of youse. I really love Rose Quoll's ratty mask... and I'd certainly buy one in a heartbeat... but I don't even have anywhere near $350+ in my bank account. Perhaps I will commission Rose if work gives me more hours and fattens my bank account up a bit.
But yeah, if you cruise on up this way, bring the suits. I'd love to check 'em out. And if I ever get the chance to swing by Brisbane, I'll definately try to visit/stay over. And I'll bring my drawing gear over to. Can I bring one of my spiders? It'll behave itself. =:)
Eeurrgh, no! Bad rat! Leave the spiders at home. There'd be a major scene if it escaped into the apartment. You and your drawing gear are welcome of course.
Very nice! So you're a mink rat? From Queensland? *suppresses scared laugh*
[there's a line of pet rats in this colour in QLD, and they're all hyperactive, and have the worst ideas that they then convince the other rats to go along with. Tracy's Mad Minks.]
Wow, Rose is talented. I hope your teeth are going to end up yellow.
(I forgot to ask if there's a particular type of rat you identify with, or just rats in general. R. Rattus? R. Norvegicus? Disney? Looney Toons?)
Rattus Norvegicus, though I admit I like the head shape of R. Rattus better. The fursuit however tends towards the toony style because that's so much easier to pull off in a fursuit and doesn't seek to identify with any one particular species of rat. Basically I told Rose to go for the cute look and she has succeeded beyond my wildest dreams.
Why do you hope my teeth are going to end up yellow?
Why do you hope my teeth are going to end up yellow? Well, yellowey-orange. Enamel. Keeps them strong.
http://www.ratmandu.com/ is Tracey's website, but I can't see a page there about the Minks. It's a breeding line, anyway, like Lou Dux's Valium line, or someone else's Sad Sacks. AusRFS breeders concentrate on health and temperament first, and colour and marking only after that. In this case she seems to have found some genes for funny, lively temperament tied to mink colouring.

I left a question that you may be interested in on my last LJ post.
Re: Hello!
Date: 2005-01-10 08:13 am (UTC)The question on your LJ I will have a go at, but be aware it's bigger than this poor rat can handle on his own.
