I won't lie to you. There are some tensions in this new role I've undertaken. I've been in relationships before, but never like this. Sometimes, I have regrets for all that I've left behind. But when he strokes my face, and I feel safe and protected, I have no doubt.

If you were both perfectly happy and not at all even a little bit tense and not renegotiating or anything, I'd be seriously worried. What you have is worth working for.

I can't really offer any advice, except for what I do myself ... and that's work really hard at the relationship. It's more giving and less taking and compromising. Not traits that come easily to me, but Squirrel and I have been together six years and still going.

Even without what you plainly have between you, simply the act of sharing one's home can make for quite a change. But it's clear neither of you have leapt heedlessly into this, and, I'm looking forward to seeing proclamations of subsequent anniversaries of your togetherness. ^_^
