Oh, for a proof-reader!

This flyer gained top marks for presentation (a black envelope with a question mark on it). I was so intrigued I had to open it but I was so let down by what I saw that I had to share it here*: A typo on both sides.

real-estate-flyer

This seems to affirm my belief that I am needed as an advertising proof-reader, but am I really the only one who cares? If so, I would not only be superfluous, but actively resented.

* I think suggesting this is a clever ploy by Stephen to further spread his message using irritating little pedants like myself would be giving a real estate agent far too much credit.

"Your're" invited to "ivest"? Oh my.

I'd actually be tempted to send the flyer back, with the mistakes clearly marked and an enclosed note saying (roughly) "I'm not interested in your offer, but I'd like to offer you my services as a proofreader; you seem to be sorely needing them". :P

I don't read my junk mail.  : P

It wasn't even my junk mail! I found it on the street while taking a walk and the black envelope with the question mark on it piqued my curiosity just enough to open it. In that respect his marketing succeeded but he soon got me off side with the content.

It's all rather awkwardly phrased, too, ne? Not to the point of violating grammar (mostly), but it does have that ring of someone trying so very hard to be proactively leveraging market synergies™.

Ah well. I suppose we at least have a good candidate for a member of the B Ark's senior staff. =:)

Oh, you're cruel!

At least he seems to understand the diff between you're and your. Less and less people appear to get this idea :P

As I pointed out to a friend on FB, we mostly follow British English in Australia, so "enquiry" is correct.
