I really should have reminded my Australian readers (all two of them) about this when it was airing on ABC1, but better late than never, yes? You can watch a review about it on SMH's The Guide and Australians can watch it on ABC iView (just search for Skippy if the direct link doesn't work). I wish I could share it more widely, but iView is locked to those on an Australian proxy. If you can find an anonymous Australian proxy that works, it will be worth the trouble.

No no no! Don't you spend a dime on this! I'll find some way of seeing this. Eventually, it might turn up on Youtube in 10 minute chunks, perhaps.

Thanks for the thought though! *hugs* :-)

I might be able to get a web proxy going on my Unix machine.

Oh yes? That's very kind of you to offer. That's not going to put a strain on your net connection, is it? I know Aldi would be keen; I'm not sure how many others would be.

Thanks for your offer! However, that won't be necessary: Marko has found me a link for a downloadable version, and I just finished watching it!

Thanks again for offering your help, it's appreciated! :)

While ferrets have starred in movies (Along Came Polly), they were never on TV. As a kit (young ferret), I saw Skippy on TV since live action animal shows were popular: Disney made many movies and shows starring animals (Flash a Teenage Otter, Charlie the Lonesome Cougar), and Ivan Tors did the Daktari (animal sanctuary starring Clarence the Cross Eyed Lion) and Flipper show (dolphin).

Oh, wow! You remember watching Skippy when it first aired! Happy memories. I had to content myself with repeats and DVDs.

I clicked on the link for the review and it started playing a KFC commercial featuring a woman with an Australian accent!   ROFL!

Thanks again for providing the info about the show and helping me watch it! I enjoyed it!

I remember the show airing in the 70s on channel CFTM-10 in French in Montreal (not the dubbing from France, but a Montreal-made dubbing) but as a kid, I didn't care much for live action shows like Flipper, Lassie or most of the episodes of Wonderful World of Disney unless cartoons were shown. That changed in my teens in the early 80s when roos became my favorite animal. Thankfully, reruns of Skippy were still shown on TVJQ-26 and I watched every one of them!

I just discovered Skippy on a very short and badly rendered YouTube video...it was such a tease!
