Made glorious summer!

This day's been like a metaphor for the year, a mix of good and bad. But I got a wonderful rat puppet (thank you mrbear2day!) and internet came back. So I guess I've finished out in front. ^_^ We've yet to see how the year will turn out (even almost finished, it has some big challenges ahead) but it gives me cause to be hopeful.

Can we see a pic of the rat puppet? There are so few of them out there, I'm always curious to see new ones! :)

I have three fortune-cookie notes stuck to my monitor at work from a local Chinese restaurant, and they all seem to fit for how this year has been going... Somehow every time I go to that restaurant with co-workers, I get these negative and ominous fortunes.

- Avoid taking unnecessary gambles.
- When things are going well, think about the danger around the corner.
- You will be successful ...someday.

The last one I added the "...", since "someday" is on a second line of text all by itself and it just reads that way to me (I feel like I'll never get out of my current "temporary" assignment.) I've become such a pessimist over the course of 2008 :P

I'll see what I can do. Though it's not really necessary. You only need to look up Mr Rat from the Mr Bear Today Show. I was quite taken aback when I found out he was one of the official replacements for Mr Rat.

Maybe we rats should collectively demand a better 2009 to make up for the Year of the Rat? It started with such great expectations and ended up a bleak house.
