Another video, but not of Rattus! This is a cutting together of footage Avi and I took of Electra melting down old hard drives and other sources of aluminium in his home made furnace. This might look dangerous (and it is) but the only burn Electra got was when he ate his meat pie for lunch too quickly!

Look out for Avi's great line at 4:23!

Yes. Now I am curious about what was on those drives.

*grins* At least after that, there's no chance of the liquid silvery metal reforming back into hard-drives, foil or killer robots ^.^

Pretty neat video - and seems to have got a nice range of aluminium paper-weights from it too.

Nifty - and no worries that it might reform into a killer robot after or anything :D
(think I might have already sent you this message anonymously? - got logged out somehow)

Interesting - but something tells me I shouldn't try this at home. c.c

Well, *if* I did it, I certainly wouldn't do so inside, anyway. :)

I leave you alone for a weekend and look what you get up to! Melting metal and other smelting related activities?

^_^

No-one told me rats did that sort of thing!

Oh no, Ristin! This is something we did back in May--I hadn't gotten around to editing the footage until now.

The phrase "While the cat's away the mice will play" may be true for cats (and mice) but while you've been away your rat has been a perfect little angel. Just ask Broc. Er, on second thoughts...

(Looks up "Australian public holidays" on Internet)

Ah, so you blokes were celebrating "Mad Max Day"!
LOLZ!

*rolls eyes* Puh-lease! We here in Australia celebrate public holidays the same way everyone else does: Having a good yarn over a few beers while burning grilling some sangas on the barbie.

What? That's not how you celebrate a public holiday? o_O

Anyway, it wasn't for a public holiday. Just a run of the mill weekend at Electra's house.

What were you doing this for?

Um, because Electra asked me to film him and then make a video out of it.

Okay, better question- why was Electra doing this?

I know they're for "another project" but that's all I know. I was just there to film and make a video out of it. You could ask him on his YouTube video.

Oh, thats sucks, what a waste....

I collect old hard drives, the platters inside are just beautiful and I am wanting to get as many as possible so I can do an art project with them.

Electra was melting them down into aluminium ingots for another project of his. One of the great things about obsolete computer hardware is that different people have different uses for them. If you want some hard drives (and you have a way of collecting them) you should ask Electra if he can get you more.
