Three weeks ago, you may recall I reported us buying a bed. Well, I'm pleased to announce that [livejournal.com profile] ristin and I slept in it for the first time last night. This may seem a long time, but I will defensively explain that the old bed (and associated junk under it) couldn't be moved without both of us having a day free to work on it. The first weekend, we were marching in Mardi Gras, the next Ristin was sick with tonsillitis. It was only this week that both of us felt half way well enough to tackle the task. I was feeling like I was coming down with something myself, but Ristin, *ahem* impressed upon me the importance of getting it done that day. Even though we still need to get proper bedding for it, Ristin was well pleased with his first night on the new bed and even gave me a little ratty treat this morning. ^_^

Definitely worth the money. I had the best nights sleep I have had so far in Brisbane, and pretty much since I was living in my parents place...
...it's a huge relief to finally have a comfortable bed and big enough for me and my rat.

Heh. I just bought myself a bed recently too. For the first time! hopefully it'll be big enough for me and my rat. ;) He's big, and I sprawl and wriggle.

A nice big bed is essential for a couple. The thought of being in each other's arms in a small bed, while romantic and full of sexual energy at first, grows thin, weary and aggravating after a while.

Trust me! You definitely want a bigger bed for a successful night's sleep.

Everyone should have rats - they're magical creatures! *g*

I'm guessing you mean a real rat rather than a totemic rat? If so, I'm interested in the mechanics of sleeping with your rat. I tend to turn in my sleep a bit and I'd be afraid I'd squash or suffocate it.

That's Meeko. Unfortunately, even though I now have Ristin, I still need plush to help me sleep.

Meeko is adorable! I have my Cuddle Bear who always sleeps with me. He helped me through a very tough time a few years ago, and has been special ever since.

^_^ Lucky you. Raccoons are great partners and lovers.

Not that I'd even consider trading in my rat for a raccoon...

I've mentioned him briefly a few times, but I don't believe I've ever referred to him as a rat on there. :)

Yes, he's adorable. Plush can be very important helping us get through rough times.

I didn't mean everyone should have rats in bed, but real rats in general, for pets. We do let the rats run around in the bed for a few minutes, though, it's funny to watch running underneath the duvet, as if it's a cave to them!

The only time I ever slept all night with a real rat was my first rattie, Constance: She was dying and she refused to not be at my side. She slept on my pillow all night, and even though I slept too, I must have been subconsciously aware that she was there, because I never rolled over on her ( ... and in the morning, I took her to the vets to be put to sleep.)
