Pointless bloody meme

Why am I doing a pointless meme? Probably because I'm lonely and I want people to comment again. :) Besides which, I sense people are getting sick of my posts about politics. ([livejournal.com profile] narwhale is responsible for this monstrosity. Blame her!)

Date you joined: 23 December 2003 (wow! Coming up to a year already?)

Number of journal entries: 140.

Number of people on your friends list: 52.

Person who introduced you to LJ: [livejournal.com profile] ristin

Still friends with this person: A bit more than friends, if you know what I mean. ;)

How many people have you introduced to LJ: Um, one person I can remember, but he didn't like it and moved on.

List everyone on your friends list who you have met in person: aldi, jagafeh, marcwolf, marko_the_rat (duh!), myzer, narwhale, ozkangaroo, parakleta, ristin, rose_quoll, sebkha, snowpony, stephenquoll, whyrl. (So many of you I feel as if I have met in person.)

Anyone on LJ you can't stand: There are some very sad people on LJ who certainly shouldn't be using up valuable air. But of course none of them are on my friends list.

Name one person on your friends list you would most like to meet: Ooh, tough one. Anyone I don't mention will be offended (and it doesn't mean I don't want to meet you). [livejournal.com profile] quentincoyote, but he was up against a lot of stiff competition. Ask me again in a week and I'm liable to have changed my mind.

Ever ban someone from commenting in your journal: No. I've contemplated needing to, but thankfully the need has never arisen.

Biggest pet peeve about LJ: There's not much really. This isn't a peeve, but I've been meditating on the nature of LiveJournal, which I imagine it shares with all blogging "communities". It's the essential falseness of it. We measure our status by the number of friends we have and so we daren't say anything too cruel on others' LJs. We are obligated to be "nice". But then, isn't that a welcome change from much of the internet?

Do you feel close to most of the people on your friends list: Not most of them, no.

How many journals on Live Journal do you have: This is it. How many should I have?

It's not just about political affiliation you know; most of my friends are left leaning. I can relate to a lot of his romantic travails and the suggestion I'd like to meet him carries the implication I might visit New York, which is very exciting for a country bumpkin like me.

*hugs his conservative raccoon* Aww, I knew you'd feel left out. Don't feel bad! I was considering you too! ;)

No worries

Nah, mate, not to worry. I was simply joking. It's just my self-depricating sense of humor.

Hell with NYC, Marko. I'll take you (and Ristin) to Boston instead! ^-^

Um, why? Is Boston bigger than NYC?

No, but it's big enough. It's Brisbane x 2 (or 2-1/2). It's cleaner, safer and has a lot more history. Consider it. New York is WAY overrated. I talk as someone who's been there (NYC) several times. I'm unimpressed.
