In other news, I got some good food scavenging done today, as befits my species. I eat too much, but it is the rat way: You eat up when times are good so you have reserves to fall back on when times are bad. The problem with this strategy is that since I met Ristin, times haven't been bad. Old habits die hard.
I know all about the eating thing - I do it myself. Having been poor and hungry a lot in the past, I cannot stand to see food wasted. I will eat whatever there is in front of me when I make/order food, or, if I cannot, or am at home, I will stick the leftovers in the fridge and eat them later. This has gotten comments from flatmates/friends in the past (like - "you are really going to eat those fries cold later on?!?"), and I just explain it to them. I hate going to bed hungry, and have had to survive on 2-minute noodles and bread for too long to be fussy about eating some cold fries on bread with some mustard or mayo thrown in. Feeling bloated with food, or needing a nap after a big meal isn't as bad as feeling hungry and not being able to do anything about it.
Oh, and I think Pizza Hut got rid of their restaurant chains and all-you-can-eat deals after some uni friends of mine went on a binge there. One guy didn't eat for 3 days, and then ate 17 slices of pizza. Out of the group of 6 students, no one ate less than 10 slices. Another uni friend of mine was thrown out of an all-you-can-eat sushi buffet for eating too much. This guy was as thin as a stick, but managed to stay there for 3 hours eating solidly the whole time - he figured it was the best $15 he had ever spent...
